Using manure for fermentation not only produces renewable energy, but also significantly reduces unwanted odors. The resulting residue is rich in nutrients and can be used as an organic fertilizer to replace chemical alternatives. Companies can reduce their energy costs by generating their own electricity or generate additional income by feeding it into the power grid.
Heat from the combined heat and power (CHP) plant can be used to heat barns, residential buildings, or for drying processes. Processing biogas into biomethane produces a natural gas substitute that can be fed into the gas network or sold as fuel.
