Dornum Biogas Plant

The biogas plant in Dornum, Lower Saxony, was commissioned by an operator consortium in 2006. The plant was originally attached to two agricultural farms that supplied the feedstock. From 2012 to 2015, the outdoor swimming pool in Dornumersiel was provided with heat from a biogas-fired satellite CHP plant. After the plant was decommissioned in 2015, it was taken over by WELTEC, which resumed its operation after implementing extensive renovation measures.
